AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome transformations reverberate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine sect.
The mission centers on "strange tests and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Transformations
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Material
Players who finish the quest will obtain an unique katana together with several items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's third free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime series. The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally featured a quest that clearly nodded to the popular series One-Punch Man.
